When entering Flynn Park Elementary School on March 24th at 6:30pm, you were handed a passport and luggage (plastic bag), and was told to have a great vacation. You had just entered Passport Night. As you walked throughout the lower level of the school, you were greeted in over 30 different languages. Passport Night is an event created to recognize the diversity within the school. It is an event that allows student, teachers, parents and friends to learn about other cultures and to educate others on their backgrounds as well.
 
There were over 300 students and excited travelers going from booth to booth picking up various cultural souvenirs and participating in activities geared for that particular country. Over 30 countries were represented: China, Thailand, Fiji, Hawaii, Kenya, Nigeria, and many more. The students were excited when a Flynn Park student and her family did a Native American Hopi Butterfly dance. It was great! This event is a parent - teacher collaboration and is truly a unique and special event for the children.
