Eric is a member of the National Honor Society as well as Mu Alpha Theta (math honor society). However, his scholastic accomplishments are not limited only to academics. He is a member of the National Forensics League (speech and debate) and of St. Louis Area Model United Nations. He also belongs to Parkway Central High School Symphonic Orchestra. Additionally, he also placed tenth at the 2000 Florissant Valley Math Contest. Athletically, he has played on his school's varsity tennis team and he currently plays on my school's varsity racquetball team, in which he finished in the top eight in the region, last year. He was also a black belt in Kenpo Karate.
He is very active within the Chinese American community. He is vice president of the Young Organization of Chinese Americans. Through this organization he was able to be part of such events as the FCC-OCA picnic. Additionally, He was captain of the St. Louis Chinese Language School's Lion Dance Team. He also has volunteered at the China Day festival at the Botanical Gardens for many years. In addition to volunteering at the local level, He has done work on the national level. This past summer he interned in Washington D.C. at the US House of Representatives for Congressman David Wu.
His aspirations include receiving a degree in business from Washington University, where he will attend next year. Afterwards, he hopes to further his education by attending graduate school. He also looks forward to continue being active within the Chinese American community, in hope to advance cultural prosperity and awareness.
