Family Support Network Appoints Healthy Start Supervisor

WEBSTER GROVES, MO (June 29, 2004) - The Family Support Network (FSN), a Webster Groves-based nonprofit agency dedicated to the prevention of child maltreatment has appointed Cheryle Chaney Yeary as the Healthy Start Supervisor. Chaney Yeary holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Rollins College in Florida.

As Healthy Start Supervisor, Chaney Yeary is the manager of the FSN's Healthy Start program and is responsible for the supervision of Healthy Start staff and the overall management of the program. Healthy Start addresses disparities in pre-, post-, and perinatal healthcare in St. Louis. Public Health Nurses and community outreach workers are based within target zip codes (63113, 63120, and 63136) to provide case management, health education and coordination of healthcare. Healthy Start is one of five programs facilitated by the FSN to keep children in the St. Louis area free of abuse and neglect.

The Family Support Network (FSN), a Webster Groves-based nonprofit agency dedicated to the prevention of child maltreatment has hired Angela Thorp as a development associate. Thorp holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from St. Louis University.

As a development associate, Thorp will be the lead grant writer for the FSN. She will also assist with special event fundraising.

About FSN

Since 1982, Family Support Network (FSN) has focused on strengthening children and their parents by providing therapy free of charge to prevent child maltreatment. Master's level and licensed therapists meet weekly with families to address issues related to parenting, difficult child behaviors and family stress. Services are provided in families' homes and in schools for 6 to 12 months. In 2003, the agency served over 2,900 individuals and 1,300 families in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, and Jefferson County.
