MCASTA 2004 - 21th Annual Conference

The 21th Annual Conference of the Midwest Chinese American Science & Technology Association (MCASTA 2004) will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in St Louis, Missouri, on Saturday, August 21, 2004. The five primary sessions planned for the conference are: Engineering and Applied Science, Life Science and Biotechnology, Humanity and Social Science, General Medicine and Food Science as well as Political Science and Economics. The topics will cover, but not limited to, the listed below:

年會將設立五組，各分組召集人如下：工程與應用科學組，陳大仁教授《SHENGASHENG華盛頓大學》與王智清教授《羅拉密蘇里大學》。生命科學與生物科技組：霍錦福博士《輝瑞藥廠》與黃郁文教授《羅拉密蘇里大學》。人文與社會科學組：王聲遠教授與蘇友貞女士《作家》。大眾醫藥與食品科學組：陳建寰博士(Barnes-Jewish Hospital/華盛頓大學)與謝富弘教授(哥倫比亞密蘇里大學)。政治與經濟發展組：馮鴻璣教授(聖路易密蘇里大學)。

此外本次大會亦將推出台灣科技展，以壁報、幻燈片、電影等不同的媒體展現台灣科技發展的新面貌，特展由謝惠生博士負責，有意參展或支持協辦的公司機構可與謝博士洽詢(636-247-6025)。

總召集人為陳雲佳博士(Monsato Company)學術召集人為陳大仁教授及劉富文教授(羅拉密蘇里大學)。總務召集人為李漢澤先生與陳海滿女士。

The professorship supports conferences, distinguished speakers' programs, visiting scholars, faculty research and cultural programs about Greater China.

Fung's research focuses on international finance, banking, financial markets and Chinese studies. He has more than 70 scholarly publications such as in Journal of International Finance and Money, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Review of Economics and Statistics, and Journal of Risk and Insurance. He has also published several books. Fung is the U.S. editor of two Journals: China and World Economy, a scholarly English journal published by the Chinese Academy of Social Science in Beijing China, and Chinese Economy, published by M.E. Sharpe Inc.; he also serves on several other editorial boards.

I received BS in Pharmacy from National Taiwan University and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from The Ohio State University. I joined Pharmacia/Pharmacia & Upjohn in November, 1999 leading the formulation development and clinical manufacturing function in Kalamazoo, MI. Before accepting the current role in St. Louis, I managed Global Pharmaceutical Sciences function in Skokie. Prior to joining Pharmacia & Upjohn, I hold both managerial and technical positions at Aronex Pharmacreuticals, Meridian Medical Technology, DuPont Merck Pharmaceuticals, and ICI Pharmaceuticals group.

Business Manager, Kids In the Middle Work experience (Career history): has more than 10 years of professional experience in arts and not-for-profit organization management.

Supervises financial and business operations of Kids In the Middle, which provides counseling for children in the trauma of their parents' divorce.

Business Manager for The New Theatre, a professional contemporary theatre in St. Louis.
