"twisted" "distorted"
"repulsive" "pathetic"
were the words Ms Cheng used in her response
to Henry Chien's article that appeared in
the previous week's issue. These are the
words used by the far left elites who dominate
the media such as Maureen Dowd of the New
York Times, Michael Moore, and other commenatators.
These words are used to belittle anyone
and any view that is contrary to their own
and reflects an intolerance that is contrary
to the accepting culture which is part of
America. None of those words appear in Mr.
Chien's article when he referred to his
friends who share Ms Chieng's sentiments.
I wish to enumerate a few facts that have
received little publicity in the press:
1. Prior to the Iraq war,
in addition to the CIA, the Intelligence
operations of United Kingdom, (MI 6), Russia,
and other countries all claimed that Saddam
Hussein had weapons of mass destruction
(WMD). This was the information given to
President Bush.
2. Secretary of State
Colin Powell was warned by the president
of Egypt that Saddam possessed WMD.
3. President Clinton was
also convinced that Saddam possessed WMD.
4. Saddam Hussein thumbed
his nose at the UN when they passed 17 resolutions
restricting his activites after his defeat
in Kuwait.
Mr Chien's article
was only one of 5 or 6 articles in your
newspaper that favored the Republican position.
In a free society such as ours a minority
view deserves as much respect as the majority.
