| Dear
Board Members, Staff, and Teachers:
On the behalf of the school Board I would like to kick off a
fund raising campaign for the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts
at the St. Louis Chinese language School. Nearly a month after
Hurricane Katrina's assault on the Gulf Coast, St. Louis Chinese
community has mobilized to lend a helping hand to the Katrina
victims. Our school has joined the CCAC (Coalition of Chinese
American Community in St. Louis for Hurricane Katrina Relief)
to participate in the relief campaign.
We will have the fundraising activities on Sundays, 9/25/2005
and 10/2/2005 at our school. We urge you to participate and contribute
at whatever level you can to make this campaign a success. In
addition to your own contributions, please ask our pupils and
their parents to contribute to this effort.
Attached is a donation form to be used for this campaign. We
will use the donation form to record donations we receive at the
school. The donation form can also used to record donations made
by the Chinese community to the American Red Cross. If you have
already contributed through your company or other charity organization
channels that were related to the Katrina relief efforts, please
stop by to fill in a form that will record variable outside contributions
that the Chinese community has contributed to the Katrina relief.
On these two Sundays, please come to upstairs at the school station
area and speak to me (Lisa Hu) if you have any questions, concerns
and suggestions. Of course you may email me at any time. Donations
are tax-deductible and Red Cross will acknowledge every person's
contribution individually, which would serve as receipts for tax
deduction purposes.
Thanks in advance for your generosity and support.
Sincerely,
Lisa Hu
