Twista to headline UMSL's Mirthday
Free concert is part of daylong celebration

Chicago rapper Twista will perform as part of the 21st annual Mirthday celebration at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Mirthday will take place from noon to 10 p.m. April 20 near the lakes outside the Millennium Student Center. The event will feature games, carnival rides, face painting, performance artists, food and music.

KSLZ (107.7 FM) will broadcast live from UMSL from noon to 2 p.m. DJ Charlie Chan will emcee the event from 2 to 6 p.m. Slu Cru, Logic and Aloha Mischeaux (from "American Idol") will perform starting at 6 p.m.

Twista will headline the evening at 8 p.m. Hailed for more than a decade as an underground marvel, Twista became a hip-hop breakthrough star last year with the release of the album "Kamikaze." The double-platinum album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, features the hit singles "Slow Jamz," "So Sexy" and "Overnight Celebrity."

Mirthday is an annual spring event sponsored by the Office of Student Life at UMSL. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, call (314) 516-5555.
