Join us for the most "fin-tastic"
event of the season - the 2005 Kids' Fishing
Fair - May 21 at the August A. Busch Memorial
Conservation Area in St. Charles. Especially
for kids 15 years old and under, this event
offers tons of fishing fun and demonstrations
on how to tie a knot, bait a hook, handle
a caught fish and fillet a fish. Try your
hand at the casting and fish identification
stations; watch demonstrations on fly tying;
learn about boat safety; stop by the amphibian
and reptile exhibits; and sample fried fish!
The fun starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.
Each kid attending the Kids' Fishing Fair
will receive a free "fish goodie bag,"
including fishing gear and special offers
from our sponsors. Youngsters should bring
their own fishing rods and bait, although
there will be a limited supply of fishing
poles available to borrow on a first come,
first served basis. The Outpost Bait Shop
also will be open for the event, with snacks,
beverages and bait for sale. Both the Kids'
Fishing Fair and parking are free and no
reservations are required. Check-in is located
at the information tent at Lake 2. For more
information on the Kids' Fishing Fair, call
(636) 441-4554.
