| Little
artists with big aspirations will hold a
fund-raiser to support their daytime home
during the Little Hands Art Auction at the
University of Missouri-St. Louis.
The informal, light fund-raiser will take
place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. May 13 in the
auditorium at Marillac Hall on UMSL's South
Campus. It's open to the public, and admission
is free. Proceeds from the auction will
benefit the University Child Development
Center at UMSL.
More than 50 group and individual art projects
made by the center's students, ages 6 months
to 5 years, will be up for bidding. The
auction will include framed and matted paintings,
drawings and other mixed media.
A silent auction on individual pieces will
take place from 5:30 to 6:30p.m. Bidding
for large group pieces will take place during
a live auction at 6:30 p.m.
Affiliated with UMSL's College of Education,
the nonprofit center is accredited by the
National Association for the Education of
Young Children and serves 75 children in
full- and half-day programs.
Although admission to the Little Hands
Art Auction is free, reservations are recommended.
