The
Olive Business Association is alive and
well. It has been setting up a new Business
Directory on a useful and exciting website,
"The Olive Link." Through representatives
Eric Huang and Dan Savory it has been working
with other leading U. City citizens to develop
a new economic track for the city. With
the U. City Residential Service, it has
been organizing a coupon system to introduce
new customers to Olive Blvd. merchants.
Does this seem like a lot? It is a sample
of OBA activity these days. In the past
two months seven more businesses have become
members. The logo, displayed on the banners
along Olive, has been more and more widely
used.
Members of the OBA are considering methods
of improving the appearance and usefulness
of areas along the three and one-half mile
stretch from I-170 to Skinker. U. City has
been building its large new Recreation Center
and tennis court complex. More trees will
be planted, and more attractive street lighting
is appearing.
The Olive Farmers' Market wears a colorful
green panel across its face. The new Wei
Hong Bakery and Seafood Restaurant is open
for the new spring season. Eric Huang's
new office building - the first along this
part of Olive in decades - has blended well
into the business district and has given
welcome modern office space.
Meetings of the OBA are held on the second
Tuesday of each month at 6:00 P.M. in Heman
Park Community Center. All merchants are
welcome. City Council members are there
to report on City affairs and to hear comments.
Come to the April 12 meeting and be a part
of progress.
See you there!
