"Celebrating New Americans" Ceremony
at Fair Saint Louis

Fair Saint Louis is inviting all St. Louis-area residents who have been naturalized in the past 25 years to participate in a "Celebrating New Americans" Ceremony. This year, Fair Saint Louis marks its 25th anniversary. To commemorate those "25 years of Celebrating Community," the Fair is honoring all St. Louis-area residents who also have become citizens of the United States in the past 25 years.

The ceremony will include:

  • Patriotic songs and presentations illustrating how St. Louis has benefited from the New Americans who have become part of the fabric of our region.
  • Essays read by high school students stating "what being an American means to me."
  • The Pledge of Allegiance lead by children of various ethnic organizations.

Guests of international heritage are invited to wear costumes and bring flags representing their native countries.

WHEN: 3 p.m. Saturday, July 2
Seating will begin at 2:30 p.m.
The ceremony will last one-half hour. The air show will immediately follow the ceremony.

WHERE: On the Main Stage of the Fairgrounds. Guests of international heritage and their families are invited to sit in
the sponsored/reserved seating in front of the Main Stage.
