Disney on Ice Show

Disney on Ice - Incredibles Show at the Saviss Center
        by Douglas Wagganer

On March 16, 2006 Maribeth Wagganer and her Friend Grace Hu attended the Disney on Ice - Incredibles Show at the Saviss Center. The event was a wonderful night of excitement for these to two little Chinese girls. Both children are now five year old, and both attend the same pre-school class at Francis Howell School District's Central Elementary School in St. Charles, Missouri.

Maribeth is the daughter of Douglas and Jane Wagganer, she was born in the Hunan Province of China, and came to America in November 2001, and now resides with her American parents in St. Charles, Missouri. Many of the readers may remember reading her father's articles in 2001/2002 about the adoption process and journey to China that followed.

Grace is the daughter of Yiding Hu and Jing Qiu Wang. Grace's parents are both from Beijing, China. Grace was born in America, and will see China for the first time at the end of April, when her parents take her to China for a month long visit with friends and family.

The cultural link in the St. Louis Chinese-American Community has many possibilities. These two little girl's becoming friends is one example. Both the Wagganer family and the Hu/Wang family have been connected in a special way, and an even greater circle of friendship has started.

Maribeth, Grace, and their Parents would each like to all say "Thank You" to St. Louis Chinese American News (SCANews). SCANews created this opportunity by furnishing the tickets the Disney Show. That act of kindness has made two children happy, and brought two families from different cultures into lasting friendship.
