Families with Children from China (FCC) held their annual Culture Day event for members June 3 and a great time was had by all. The children broke into groups to do Chinese themed crafts and play games while the adults gathered to listen to a special guest speaker. Hollee McGinnis, a well known adoption expert and a Korean adoptee herself came from New York to talk about what it was like to grow up as a Korean adoptee and how her experience relates to and can help the FCC children as they get older. Her talk was heartfelt and informative and included many questions from the families. On hand for the event were also a number of vendors selling Chinese themed products and the day ended with a buffet lunch provided by Panda Express. |
