"Harriett Woods was a wonderful role model for women and a personal mentor of mine. My first job in Jefferson City after college was as an intern in Harriett's Senate office.

She knew how to stay focused on making changes that really mattered for people. And she broke all the barriers for women running for higher office. Her contribution to the state of Missouri was enormous and we were all lucky to have her. She will be greatly missed."
