2007 Chinese New Year Celebration - Thank-you Letter

Dear 2007 Chinese New Year Celebration: Co-sponsors, Contributors, performers, volunteers, and participants,

St. Louis Chinese Association was very pleased to have the opportunity to have organized 2007 Chinese New Year Celebration at Harries-Stowe State University main auditorium on February 10, 2007 with approximately close to 1,000 people in attendance. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of you, either as a co-sponsor, contributor, performer, volunteer, or as a participant of the Celebration. Your remarkable contribution, support, performance, service, or attendance made this sold-out-ticket event very successful. The New Year's greetings personally delivered by Mayor Slay and County Executive Mr. Dooley, the contribution by and cooperation between different organizations, and the excellent artistic quality of the stage show marked the significance of this year's success. The increasing number of American participants certainly adds an American spirit in our new year's festivity.

The success of the event is credited to the teamwork of the St. Louis Chinese community. Many organizations joined us in sponsoring the event: Harris-Stowe State University, Royal Banks of Missouri, St. Louis Community College, St. Louis Chinese Association Choir, St. Louis Modern Chinese School, St. Louis Chinese Language School, Chinese Student Association of Washington University and its Dancing Team, and Chinese Music Ensemble from Kansas City. Our heartfelt thanks specially go to many organizations and individuals with financial support and many restaurants which prepared food and some even donated food to the event.

St. Louis Chinese Association (SLCA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization. It is formed by Chinese volunteers who live in the Greater St. Louis area and willing to volunteer time and serving the Chinese community. This event symbolizes the unity of the St. Louis Chinese community and the harmony of our community with the US society, which is the primary purpose of the association: to promote understanding and friendship between the Chinese community and the American society. We appreciate your efforts in supporting St. Louis Chinese Association in this important undertaking.

In the New Year, we would like to continue our teamwork together with all Chinese organizations and individuals in the community to make St. Louis a better place for all of us. Wish all of you a happy, healthy, and wealthy New Year!

        With best regards,

        The Board of Directors
