Would it surprise you to know that the band dubbed "Best Band Live in Metal Meltdown NJ" was from Taiwan? If so, then you're probably also surprised to hear that for the first time ever a heavy metal band is playing Ozzfest this summer.
But if you're not surprised at all, then you know I'm talking about ChthoniC, often called "the Black Sabbath of Asia," the dynamic band that has been taking the Black Metal scene by storm around the world. And that they'll be performing in a venue near YOU soon.
Having already conquered the Asian music scene, ChthoniC (pronounced THON-ick) is currently charging on with a world tour of unprecedented scale for a band of its type. Word of mouth is passing so quickly that audiences in American cities are already anticipating the band's arrival on stage, chanting their name, and ready to scream when front man Freddy Lim greets them with "We are ChthoniC, from Taiwan!" Fans are then treated to great music with a higher caliber live show than most Metal bands give, matching the energy usually only created in the recording studio. ChthoniC is really special, fusing Metal with traditional Taiwanese instruments, legends, and traditions for a truly out-of-the-box concert experience.
ChthoniC's 2007 tour, titled "Unlimited" coincides with the release of their latest CD and highlights the single "UNlimited Taiwan." Outspoken political activist Freddy Lim pulls no punches expressing his desire to bring the unlimited creative potential of the people of Taiwan to the attention of the people of the world.

We will also highlight 'UNlimited Taiwan,' an endeavor to strongly protest how the UN (United Nations) limits Taiwan's full participation as an independent country. ChthoniC has recorded 'UNlimited Taiwan,' a new single specifically created to headline this campaign. Hopefully, more and more international friends will understand and support Taiwan, through the 'Unlimited' power of music."
