【時報訊】應聖路易中華福音教會之邀，來自休士頓的新心音樂事工10月13日晚間七時，在中華福音教會舉行了一場「不變的愛」詩歌分享見證會，以動人心弦的音樂見證，宣揚上主奇妙的救恩，歌頌讚美三位一體的真神，同時舉辦敬拜研習會，堅定基督徒的信仰，強化基督徒的事奉，更引領慕道友進入上主的殿堂。
休士頓新心音樂事工今年慶祝成立十周年，帶著一顆熱愛神與願意被神使用的心，一群在教會負責主領敬拜的基督徒音樂家了解到神給他們一個異象，要透過他們在音樂上的恩賜來將人帶到神大面前。他們深信唯有在基督耶穌裏重生，蒙神賜一顆新心，才能坦然無懼地來到父神寶座前敬拜祂，因此在一九九七年成立了新心音樂事工。目前有八位全職同工；鄭浩賢牧師、余遠淳弟兄、趙珮姐妹、鄭鎧賢姐妹、胡淑懿姐妹、曾以撒弟兄、李維孝弟兄和吳青芳姐妹。
這次來到聖路易主持敬拜研習會和詩歌分享見證會的四位同工為總幹事余遠淳，企劃主任胡淑懿，音樂教師李維孝和吳青芳。在13日的音樂見證會中，美國萊斯大學音樂博士，余遠淳總幹事介紹了新心音樂事工的成立和使命，他表示，新心音樂事工籍著敬拜贊美會來更新個人和群體的敬拜生活，並藉著音樂見證佈道會來宣揚神奇妙的救恩，籍著創作、改編和翻譯詩歌強化音樂敬拜和宣教事工，籍著基督化音樂教育培養事奉教會的音樂人才。
至於為什麼取名為「新心」呢？余遠淳同工表示，這個「新心」的由來是來自聖經以西結書36章26節「我要賜給你們新的心，新的靈，我要替你們換心，把像石頭一樣堅硬的心除掉，換上一顆有血有肉，肯服從的心。」
在神的帶領下，新心的事奉已步入十年。從北美到亞洲，從南美到歐洲，十多個國家，新心親眼看見，親身經歷神的恩典和大能，神籍著這個事工呼召人悔改接受主、啟示人以敬拜的生活出祂的恩典、邀請和裝備人參與音樂事奉的行列、並使用不同的敬拜資源傳遞和回應神所啟示的真理。
在聖路易的音樂會中，來自香港的主唱胡淑懿姐妹帶領會眾高唱動聽的讚美詩歌。她也以親身經歷為主恩作見證。余遠淳、李維孝兩位同工以一雙小提琴演奏技巧，演奏出上主不變的愛。大提琴手、美國奧斯汀大學音樂博士吳青芳姐妹，鋼琴、電子琴演奏動人心弦。獲有德州大學藝術學士學位的小提琴家李維孝同時也是吉他手、編曲家，這位在紐約出生、休斯頓成長的年輕音樂家是“新心”帶領青少年英語敬拜事工的主力。
聖路易中華福音教會牧師陳達感謝新心音樂事工的來訪和主持敬拜研究會及詩歌分享見證會，並祝福新心在神的帶領下繼續作更美好的事奉。陳達牧師同時報告由聖路易地區七所教會聯合舉辦，即將在10月26日至28日在聖路易華人基督教會由馮秉誠牧師主講之「天人之間」佈道會，希望大家能踴躍參加，聆聽福音。
NEW HEART STIRS HEARTS
A talented group of musicians coming from various places such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Houston found a shared interest in music in Houston, Texas, where they all were attending Houston Chinese Church. NEW HEART was established in 1997 when individuals with backgrounds in such fields as music, business, library science, and accounting were convinced that their "new hearts" (Ezekiel 36:26) were leading them to pursue a new goal in life: to worship God through their musical talent and to share God's love through their music.
On October 12, NEW HEART performed here in St. Louis for a group of international students, scholars, and friends at the monthly dinner meeting of ISI (International Students, Inc.) at Memorial Presbyterian Church on Skinker. Around 175 attendees were treated to a concert with numbers sung mostly in English but also in Mandarin. The music clearly conveyed their dedication to their message. Between numbers, which were accompanied by guitar and keyboard, the musicians shared what the songs meant to them. In keeping with the theme, NEW HEART, they encouraged all to consider the difference between a "head" knowledge of God and a "heart" relationship to God, through belief in his Son as personal savior.
Students, scholars, and friends representing at least six area universities and ten foreign countries, remarked that the group's sincere joy was very evident.. Their music was wonderful and uplifting. The violin duet was especially moving and beautifully performed, and the evening ended all too soon. Fortunately, this talented group performed twice more at west county's Chinese Gospel Church. NEW HEART message and music found a warm reception in many hearts.
