        Sense of Culture and Science - "Sense of Tea"

        FOT-STL (Friends of Taiwan-Greater St. Louis, www.FOTSTL.ORG) held up a successful cultural exchange event "sense of Tea" at St. Louis Science Center on Saturday, October 20, 2007, 2:00pm - 4:30pm. This event provided a great opportunity to explore a variety of Tea from across the Pacific Ocean.

        The "Longevity Tea Ceremony" from Taiwan was from a traditional "old Man Tea" style of drinking culture. This event started with efficient coordination by Peter Chang, with powerpoint set up, Showay (Sheow Chang, The founding President of FOT-STL) gave basic info of tea and famous tea variety from Taiwan; Kevin Chang, MD (Chief Medical Resident Of Brackenridge Hospital - UTMB-Austin, Internal Medicine Dept.) presented the important info of "tea and Helth" Dr. Pam DeVoe (The President of FOT-STL) talked about FOT's Overseas Cultural Exchange Exhibit/Tour' past events/future events; The Japanese Tea tasting was presented by Ms. Ikuyo, Ms. Shiho and Ms. Kazuko Ikeda; The Longevity Tea tasting was presented by Michael, Peggy & Kevin Lin; Also, special Bamboo Painting demo by Artist Hung-Wei Lee; The Calligraphy demo by Angel Wu and Linda Lin; Flute music by Cynthia Bauer.

        With beautiful flower arrangements and many different delicious deserts made from FOT’s volunteer (Mei-Mei, Ling Chi), all the guests from science center enjoyed an afternoon tea tasting with "Japanese Tea" and "Longevity Tea Ceremony" from Taiwan.
