We are disappointed by a recent racist and hatred remark on CNN news towards the Chinese people by Commentator Jack Cafferty. In Situation Room aired on April 9th, Cafferty charged the Chinese people with a highly despicable assault by saying," they (Chinese) are basically the same bunch goons and thugs they have been in the past fifty years"(http://transcripts.cnn.com/transcripts/0804/09sitroom.03.html)
This is unacceptable and against the value of tolerance and freedom of speech. It's also a blatant discrimination against an ethnic group of people with such a derogatory connotation on a national TV program. Many in the Chinese community feel hurt and insulted by intolerant assault. We strongly condemn Jack Cafferty's remarks and urge that CNN to take immediate action towards the negative effects that this may have towards their network.
