YOUTH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT THE MAGIC HOUSE

        Join the Fun of Being a Volunteer at The Magic House, St. Louis Children's Museum

        Discover the magic of volunteering at one of the top museums in the nation! The Magic House, St. Louis Children's Museum is looking for friendly faces to participate in its youth volunteer program this spring and summer.

        Students ages 13 and above are needed to assist visitors of all ages with more than 100 hands-on exhibits. Volunteers have the opportunity to work alongside students their own age while working a two to four hour shift each week. Students are required to volunteer a minimum of 12 hours.         About The Magic House

        The Magic House is a not-for-profit participatory museum that engages children in hands-on learning experiences that encourage experimentation, creativity and the development of problem-solving skills within a place of beauty, wonder, joy and magic.

        Since opening its doors in 1979, The Magic House has sparked the imaginations and touched the lives of more than 8 million visitors. The museum has received recognition for its outstanding hands-on learning exhibits and educational programming, and is now one of the most attended children's museums in the country with an average of 400,000 visitors annually. Zagat, the renowned travel guide publisher, ranks The Magic House as the nation's number one attraction in "child appeal" in their publication, U.S. Family Travel Guide. The museum was the only institution nationwide to garner a perfect score. In addition, in 2007 Orbitz Travel named The Magic House one of the top family attractions in the country and will soon feature the museum on its webpage for a term of three years.

        The Magic House is located at 516 S. Kirkwood Road, one mile north of Highway 44 in historic downtown Kirkwood. Summer hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 am - 5:30 p.m., Wednesday and Friday 9:30 am to 9:00 pm, Saturday 9:30 am to 5:30 pm and Sunday 11:00 am - 5:30 pm. The museum is closed on Mondays during the school year. Regular museum admission is $7.50 per person. Children under the age of one are free. Parking is always free at The Magic House.
