St. Louis Could Play A Role in 2016 Olympics

If Chicago beats out Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo for the 2016 Olympics, St. Louis could play a role in the games. Patrick Ryan, the Chairman and CEO of Chicago 2016, said St. Louis is being considered to host preliminary soccer games or serve as a potential training location for countries before the Olympics. Typically, visiting nations set up pre-Games, training and camps outside the flurry of activity in the host city. The International Olympic Committee will make its decision on the host in October 2009 at the IOC meetings in Copenhagen, Denmark.
