2009 Wow! eye Taiwan Video Contest
Given the success of the first Wow! eye Taiwan Video Contest in 2008, and to encourage more public participation in digital content production, the Government Information Office in Taipei will hold the 2009 Wow! eye Taiwan Video Contest, in the hope that people at home and abroad will gain new and multifaceted insights into Taiwan.
A total of 472 entries from all over the world were submitted in last year's Wow! eye Taiwan Video Contest. Anyone concerned about Taiwan and interested in promoting its national image may participate in the contest. Entrants must register for the contest and submit their films online within the given timeframe by signing up for membership of the Internet-based Taiwan Audio Video Interactive Service (TAVIS.tw; http://TAVIS.tw) platform. Timeframe for uploading entries is from March 1 (12 a.m. Taipei time) to May 31 (midnight Taipei time), 2009.
Entries may be submitted by individuals or teams. Entrants shall choose to compete in one of the following four categories: animation, documentary, short film, or music video (MV). Any type of video capture device may be used. Maximum length of the film is ten minutes.
Awards are divided into three groups-main film awards, special awards, and encouragement awards. Winner of the Grand Jury Award will be awarded with a trophy and a prize of NT$500,000 (about US$14,500). Total award prizes amount to US$55,000.
