Centene Closes On Financing For HQ Project

A consortium of banks has signed off on a construction loan to build Centene Corp.'s new $186 million headquarters building in Clayton. A U.S. Bank-led consortium committed on June 5 to a construction loan for the 17-story office tower, which will house the corporate headquarters for Centene, one of St. Louis' largest public companies, and Armstrong Teasdale, one of the area's largest law firms. Construction began in October to demolish the former Library Ltd. building on the site and start work on the first two floors. The project will have 460,000 square feet of office space and 28,125 square feet of retail space.

Centene Center will be Clayton's first new office building in nearly a decade when it is completed in July 2010.
