A seven-story patient tower is among the first projects in a 30-year plan to nearly double the size of Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Town and Country. Construction of the tower could begin next year if the municipality approves the hospital's long-range, three-phase site development plan. The issue will go before the Planning and Zoning Commission on Aug. 26. If approved, the matter then would be considered by the Board of Aldermen. The long-range plan would add 950,000 square feet of building space, expanding the medical center's size to nearly 2 million square feet.
