On Tuesday evening, October 20 from 5:30 PM to 9 PM the City of University City and Freddie Mac are hosting a Housing Resource Fair at Heman Community Center, 975 Pennsylvania in University City. The Housing Fair is designed to help potential homebuyers learn about:
* How to purchase a home* What homes are available for sale in University City* How to finance the purchase of the home* How to make homes more affordable to operate through home weatherization* How repair credit* Refinancing options* How to avoid foreclosure
Representatives from various lending institutions, local realtors, community non-profit agencies (Better Family Life, Urban League of Greater St. Louis, Catholic Charities, Community Action Agency) and the City of University City will be present during the open house throughout the evening. At 5:30 to 6:15PM representatives from Freddie Mac will give a presentation about "Making Home Affordable" and refinancing loan modification options. At 6:30 to 7:00 PM there will be a workshop on the home buying workshop to help citizens who are buying a home for the first time.
The "UHomes-UCity", green homes building project team, will also be present with information about the City's new initiative in conjunction with Arcturis (architectural firm), BOA Construction and Washington University's Sam Fox School of Art and Visual Design to build 5 new LEED certified green homes in the northeast quadrant of the city.Door prizes and refreshments will be available. |
