St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay has announced that Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge will become the new Director at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Ms. Hamm-Niebruegge will take over after Richard Hrabko retires at the end of this year.
Hamm-Niebruegge, 49, graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia in 1982 with a major in German, has spent most of her airline career at Lambert, a fact that Slay and others say give her a powerful perspective as she takes over the airport's operations and direction.
She has been managing director for the St. Louis operations of American Airlines since 2002. Prior to that, she was Trans World Airlines' vice president for North American operations and manager of the St. Louis hub. She also worked for Ozark Air Lines at LaGuardia Airport in New York city.
Mayor Slay says Hamm-Niebruegge was strongly endorsed by local business, labor and political leaders because of her vast industry experience and her knowledge and working relationships at Lambert. She has spent 20 years at Lambert and has strong connections to the St. Louis community. |
