深化的紙性 Exploration: Works on Paper

孫磊中國當代藝術越來越多元的現狀正催生著更多藝術花樣的翻新，尤其在社會化娛樂情境下，市場與消費的介入，使得藝術表達在更為浮淺的表面得以運行，繪畫也越來越呈現出不經思辨的淺薄邏輯觀念轉化。事實上，一種相對深入的具有強大思辨邏輯的藝術表達在當代一直蘊藏著巨大的能量，這種思辨往往都是來自最初的嘗試或者某種天然的初級方式，這裡的幾位畫家正是基於這樣的一種秉持聚集在一起的。他們選擇了「紙」。紙在中國有著深厚的淵源和傳統。紙有著充分的想像和飽滿的隱喻。它不僅僅作為生活必需品向繪畫和藝術延伸，它更屬於精神熱望的部分。這種熱望要求更廣博的知識，更準確的激情，更到位的抒發，更縝密的邏輯，更自然的傾注。紙上，就是精神上，這樣的慾求在這幾位畫家身上表露無疑。他們深厚的學養和知識保證了這樣一種持續：如何將一種簡單的藝術描述深化為充滿精神指涉力的作品文本。這種深化實際上正是我們的傳統，我們得以揮霍的榮耀。無論如何，它在任何一個時代都未曾斷裂過。所以，當我們面對今天紛繁的當代藝術場域性的衝擊之時，不必擔心那些浮誇的、即時的、破壞力極強的事物與現象的肆虐，它剛好與我們的精神脈絡構成了一種適時的反動，無疑，它刺激了這樣的反駁，儘管這樣的展覽如此微小。高翔、黎旭、孫遜似乎對當代處境更敏感，反應更迅捷，他們各自建立的當代精神申訴決定了其表達的深化，高翔的意象之塔（馬塔），黎旭的「另眼相看」，孫遜的生存示意，都似乎在努力見證這一時代的精神狀況。孫韜、陳恆更在意現實中的戲劇化因素，他們更懂得在意像傳統中獲得營養，並實現其當代情境下的轉化。詩藍、申穎浩、武宏試圖建立一種更貼切的抽象道路。張忻、陳樂孺嘗試著在舊的視覺體系中加入一些新的表現性因素。而蔡夢霞、梁藍波仍直接借取傳統的藝術形式進行表述。總之，紙上意味著被鋪開、被伸展的過程，或許它並不完整和成熟，但缺陷更加深了他們對責任的焦慮，也許這樣的深化對每一個人都是不斷的開始。（編者按）由中國北京著名策展人孫磊策劃的國際現代書畫展「深化的紙性」現正在哥侖比亞密蘇里大學藝術工作室畫廊舉行（The Craft Studio Gallery，N12 Memorial Union, 518 Hitt Street, Columbia)。展期從十一月三十日至十二月十二日，開放時間為週一至週四中午十二時至晚上九時，週五和週六中午十二時至下午六時，週日中午十二時至下午四時。公眾招待會定於十二月三日（星期四）下午四半至五時半舉行。 Exploration: Works on Paper An international exhibition, Exploration: Works on Paper, curated by well-known art critic and curator Lei Sun from the Shandong Academy of Arts in China is being held at the University of Missouri-Columbia. This exhibition focus on experimental and mixed media works on paper, especially the rice-paper, a main substance that artists have used for painting and calligraphy in China for thousands of years. Artists today continue to explore this medium, incorporating many Western materials (pigments and papers) and contemporary art concepts into their creativities, in an attempt to deepen their personal investigations and strengthen the expressive quality of this medium. Works on paper are well known for their directness and immediacy, and these characteristics are also explored through the display of these works. Artists invited for this exhibition include mostly art professors and doctoral graduates from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, as well as artists from South Korea, France, China, and the United States. These artists include: Mengxia Cai, Heng Chen, Leru Chen, Xiang Gao, Lampo Leong, Chevalier Li, Xu Li, Youngho Shin, Tao Sun, Xun Sun, Hong Wu, and Xin Zhang. This exhibition will run from November 30 to December 12, 2009, and the reception is scheduled on Thursday, December 3, from 4:30?:30pm. The Craft Studio Gallery is located at N12 Memorial Union, 518 Hitt Street, on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus. Gallery Hours are: Mon-Thurs, noon-9pm; Fri & Sat, noon-6pm; and Sunday, noon-4pm. Their phone number is 573.882.2889.
