MoDOT: I-64 Closure In St. Louis Did Not Hurt The Local Economy

The massive two-year rebuilding project that shut down sections of Interstate 64 through the St. Louis area did not significantly hurt businesses along the route. At least that's the finding of a survey announced by the Missouri Department of Transportation, which was responsible for the project. While some business operators said they had problems, it appeared to be related more to the economic downturn than the highway shutdown.
