【時報訊】第七屆青少年糖尿病研究基金會年會，二月二十日、二十一日兩天在聖路易城區Millennium旅館舉行，聖路易大學亞美裔同學會派出數十位醫學生參與年會，擔任義工，獲得與會人士好評。
青少年糖尿病研究基金會第七屆家庭年會計有200餘個家庭與會，研討項目包括器官移植、糖尿病研究更新，不同治療方式、兒童憂鬱症、兒童照顧及體育運動等。該基金會每年為青少年糖尿病患者家庭舉辦為期一週之教育，支持和鼓勵研討會。其中也包括為病童帶來家庭式歡樂。
青少年糖尿病研究基金會係由患有第一型糖尿病病童之家長們在1970年成立，是全世界非由政府支持之大型糖尿病研究機構，截止目前為止，該機構總共募得研究經費高達十四億美元，用於青少年糖尿病之研究治療照顧和預防工作。
Mild Weather and Hot Topics: Marked the Annual JDRF Family Retreat at the Millennium Hotel
Multi-generations of over 200 families came together the weekend of February 20-21 at the Millennium Hotel in downtown St. Louis for the 7th Annual Family Retreat sponsored by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Metro Saint Louis/Greater Missouri Chapter.
Topics included a discussion of pancreas transplants, research updates,Pumps vs. insulin injections, depression in children with diabetes, babysitter basics for the care of kids with type 1 and sports and exercise.
Every year, JDRF hosts a full weekend of education, support, encouragement and family fun.
JDRF International was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with type 1 diabetes. It is the larges non-government funder of diabetes research in the world and to date has raised $1.4 Billion to treat, cure and ultimately prevent diabetes.
