To Fair U City 2012

The volunteers organizing Fair U City 2012 are putting out a call for vendors for the Fair, which will once again be held on Memorial Day weekend in University City's Heman Park.
Fair volunteers hope to attract a wide range of vendors: food vendors; community organizations; St. Louis area businesses; and artists. Potential vendors are encouraged to visit the Fair U City website at www.fairucity.com for more information about the Fair and costs associated with taking part.
In its inaugural year in 2011, an estimated 8-10,000 people visited the fair over the two days. This year, organizers expect even more visitors since Fair U City 2012 will start on Saturday evening and continue through Memorial Day.
Fair offerings will also be expanded ?this year there will be two sound stages and a dance floor, along with an expanded lineup of vendors. Tinsley Amusements will, once again, provide the carnival rides. And Schlafly Brewery will provide their products for sale in a booth sponsored by the volunteers organizing the Fair.
"Fair U City, a large carnival in the center of the St. Louis metropolitan area, attracted people from around the region last year. And we expect to do the same in 2012." said Mayor Shelley Welsch who is working with community volunteers on the event. "This fair is designed to build community in our town, but it's really building a greater sense of community in this region. It's a great event and vendors can reach lots of St. Louisans if they choose to take part."
