Arch Grants extends deadline for business plan competition
(January 3, 2013) The deadline for startups to apply for the Arch Grants business plan competition has been extended to Feb. 1.
The deadline was set for Jan. 1 but the organization released a statement late Wednesday afternoon announcing the change.
"With the original deadline coming during the holidays when so many people are busy with family and friends, we wanted to extend the deadline to afford the opportunity to those that may still want to apply," Arch Grants Executive Director Sarah Spear wrote in an email to BizNext.
Arch Grants received a lot of last minute applications and is extending the deadline to give more candidates a chance to apply, Spear said.
Arch Grants is a non-profit giving away $1 million to 20 startups who will each receive a $50,000 grant to move their company to downtown St. Louis.
The first round of Arch Grants had 15 winners selected from 420 entries from around the world. The organization did not announce how many companies have applied so far but did say that it was more than last year.
