Civic leaders recognize Saint Louis Zoo's 2012 attendance record

Civic leaders gathered at the pylon at the Saint Louis Zoo's Wells Fargo South Arrival Experience to celebrate a major milestone: Zoo 2012 attendance totaled 3,519,926 visitors-among the top attendance for zoos across the nation. Observing this record are (from left) Dr. Jeffrey P. Bonner, Dana Brown President and CEO of the Saint Louis Zoo; the Honorable Mayor of the City of St. Louis Francis G. Slay; Saint Louis Zoological Park Subdistrict Commission Chairman the Honorable James F. Conway; St. Louis County Executive Charlie A. Dooley; and Saint Louis Zoological Park Subdistrict Commission Chairman Emeritus Robert R. Hermann.
The final Zoo attendance numbers were well above 2011 attendance of 3,019,597 and the Zoo's earlier record attendance of 3,101,830 set in 2009. The Zoo's 2012 visitors also gave the Zoo a 9.4 overall satisfaction rating on a 10-point scale, the best marks ever received.
