U.S. Senate Effort To Name Bridge After Cards Great Musial Moves Forward

A national-level effort to name the new Mississippi River Bridge after late St. Louis Cardinals legend Stan Musial is one step closer to law.
U.S. Senators passed the legislation unanimously on Tuesday March 12, 2013 and mirrors several state-level initiatives.
The Senate measure will now move on to the U.S. House of Representatives for consideration.
Musial died in January at the age of 92. Known as "Stan the Man," Musial won seven National League batting titles, was a three-time MVP and helped the Cardinals capture three World Series championships in the 1940s.
