Missouri Senator Roy Blunt says the federal government's difficulty launching
http://Healthcare.gov this fall is not really what's wrong with the Affordable Care Act.
President Obama's administration has struggled to address a myriad of problems with the site since launching Oct. 1, including users being unable to create accounts and load web pages.
Blunt cautions residents not to consider the website as a measure of whether or not the President's signature health care plan is working.
"The website will work. It's amazing it wasn't designed to work from day one," Blunt said. "And I think when the website begins to work people are going to find out a whole lot more about coverage they don't need at costs they can't afford."
Blunt says the fundamental problem lies in the federal government's attempt to manage a sector that amounts to 16 percent of the U.S. economy. Blunt has been an outspoken critic of the Affordable Care Act since it was signed into law in 2010.
