Three Fulton School students competed in the Missouri District Solo and Small Ensemble Music Festival at Parkway Central High School in March.

Senior Taylor Schnurbusch of Sunset Hills competed as a vocalist; sophomore Bowen Liu of Hefei, China, and junior Tony Lu of Wuhan, China, each competed as piano soloists.

Schnurbush and Liu earned "Outstanding" ratings for their performances.

Lu achieved an "Excellent" rating and will represent The Fulton School in May at the Missouri State Solo & Small Ensemble Festival at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

"All three have put in many hours of work preparing their pieces and have grown tremendously as musicians and individuals," said Fulton School music director Brian Elder. "I expect them all to build upon this experience in the future. They represented themselves and our school with distinction, performing alongside students from the largest school music programs in the St. Louis metropolitan area." Located just outside of Wildwood, The Fulton School is a small, independent school preparing students 每 from toddler through 12th grade -- for higher education and a lifetime of learning. Using a Montessori-based, multi-aged, personalized approach gives each student the space to learn without limits and to be curious without caution.
