The Saint Louis Zoo will be extending its operating hours during Fair St. Louis to accommodate visitors on the holiday weekend.

Thursday through Saturday, July 3-5, all of the Zoo's exhibits and attractions will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., except River's Edge and the Red Rocks area, which will close at 7 p.m. and Stingrays at Caribbean Cove presented by Mercy Kids, which will stay open until 9 p.m. Gift shops at the north and south entrances, and Lakeside Cafe will be open until 10 p.m. The Emerson Zooline Railroad will run until 8 p.m.

On Friday, July 4, Jungle Boogie presented by Mid America Chevy Dealers featuring the band Galaxy Red will run from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Zoo entrances will be open through 11:30 p.m. for visitors who need to reach their cars on the South Lot after the Fair closes at 10:30 p.m.

On Sunday, July 6, the Zoo will resume its regular Prairie Farms Summer Zoo Weekends hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Admission to the Zoo and Jungle Boogie is free. There are fees for special attractions. Stingrays at Caribbean Cove, Emerson Children's Zoo and Mary Ann Lee Conservation Carousel are free from 8 to 9 a.m. every day in summer. Admission charges apply after 9 a.m. for these attractions. Please note, the Zoo will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 20, for A Zoo Ado presented by Wells Fargo Advisors, the Zoo's biennial fundraiser.

        Parking

Parking on the Zoo's South and North Lots on July 3-5 will be $30 per vehicle from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.—up from the usual $15 fee during the summer months. However, the Zoo will offer coupons for $15 off a Zoo membership or a buy-one-get-one-free Safari Pass for those who pay $30 to park on the Zoo's lots. Coupons are valid through July 31, 2014. (The Safari Pass is a $12 value that covers the per person fees for the Children's Zoo, the Zooline Railroad, Stingrays at Caribbean Cove, the Conservation Carousel, the 4-D Motion Simulator and the movie in The Living World.) Zoo members can use their parking privileges during the holiday weekend, as usual.

At the Zoo's newly cleared Expansion Site across Highway I-64/40 where Forest Park Hospital used to operate, there are surface lots (234 spaces) and garage spots (87 spaces) that will be available to visitors for $15 per vehicle (cash only is required at this site). These spots will be available on Thursday, July 3 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, July 4-5 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. A free visitor shuttle to the Zoo will be available from the Expansion Site lots to the Zoo's South Entrance; the shuttle will run until 11:30 p.m. each night during the fair. During weekends and holidays in summer, Zoo staff and volunteers park at the Zoo's expansion site, formerly Forest Park Hospital, to allow maximum parking for visitors on Zoo lots.
