"JDRF's mission is to find a cure for T1D (type 1 diabetes). Each of the 450 gala guests was dedicated to funding research for a cure. We were especially excited to have the opportunity to honor Jackie Smith, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Class of 1994 with the JDRF Star of Hope Award…and Dr. John A. Pieper (President, St. Louis College of Pharmacy) and Christina Shasserre ((President, Eurofins Pharma Bio Analytic Services)) as Diabetes Champions," said M. Marie Davis, Executive Director JDRF Greater Missouri and Southern Illinois Chapter.

After the spirited cocktail hour, The Emerald City welcomed guests to a fabulous preference-menu for a sumptuous dinner followed by super-silent and live auctions featuring upscale items, unique global trips and exotic experiences. The evening's highlight was JDRF's signature Fund A Cure and a no-holds-barred live auction that gave everyone an opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of people living with T1D through a 100% tax-deductible donation. The Charles Glenn Band kept guests dancing into the wee hours.

JDRF (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) is the only global organization with a strategic plan to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until it is no longer a threat to anyone.
