        Do you know a New American with the entrepreneurial spirit who drives innovation and fuels our economy?

        The Global Great Lakes Network has partnered with New America Media for a story contest, iA Day in the Life of an Immigrant Entrepreneur, i to celebrate immigrant entrepreneurs and their contributions to our communities and economies. We ask for stories about immigrant entrepreneurs in an effort to spotlight the important role they play in our local economies.

        One entry from each participating metro region will be featured in a booklet of winning stories.

        One regional winner will be chosen to receive a $1,000 prize.

        Contest Rules

        Contest Deadline: 11:59PM (Midnight) November 26, 2014

        ? Applicants must live or work in one of the below participating metro regions to submit a contest entry.

        ? Length: 1,000 words maximum

        ? Format: Arial, 11-pt, single-spaced, submitted as a Microsoft Word document (.doc/.docx) or a Rich Text File (.rtf).

        ? Accompanying photographs may be submitted as a separate file, but are not required.

        ? Applicants can submit more than one entry.

        Please include the following in your email:

        ? Subject line: iImmigrant Entrepreneur Contest Entry

        ? Authoris first and last name, email address, and phone number. If author is different from the subject of the story, please also include the subjectis first and last name, email address, and phone number.

        ? The Title of your entryAll entries should be emailed to the local lead organization in your metro. For St. Louis, please e-mail to: Cohen, Elizabeth

        Metro Region

        Entries may be written and edited by someone other than the subject of the story, including the point person in the lead organization in the member community.

        Entries may include articles that have been published in blogs or other media outlets, although permission should be obtained to reprint the article, if necessary.

        Final judging of the stories will be based on the subject of the story as well as the quality of the storytelling. Lead organizations may work with the entrants to revise and improve the stories, but the submitted version must have the approval of the subject of the story.
