St. Louis, MO - The St. Louis Mosaic Project is excited to announce Vin Ko has joined as Program Manager. Mr. Ko graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a BA in Political Science and has a vibrant background in program management, fundraising, and leadership experience. As the Director of Operations for State Treasurer Clint Zweifel's reelection campaign, Ko collaboratively worked as part of the campaign's development team which raised over $2.2 million dollars. Prior to joining the St. Louis Mosaic Project, he worked at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School (MICDS) in their Alumni and Development office. In his free time, he runs a local soccer organization known as St. Louis Pick Up Soccer, which is known for their inclusive nature. Of their 2,500 current members, roughly 10% are foreign-born and represent over 40 nations.

A native St. Louisan, Ko's parents immigrated to St. Louis from Hong Kong to pursue the ?˜American Dream' through entrepreneurial endeavors. He graduated from Ladue Horton Watkins High School, but also participated in the desegregation program, where he was bused from the county into the city schools, Kennard, McKinley, and Metro. Ko had the following to say of his new role with the St. Louis Mosaic Project:

"The Mosaic Project is an incredible opportunity to channel the passion I have for the growth and prosperity of the St. Louis region into programs that will have an impact both economically and culturally. My work with St. Louis Pick Up Soccer has really highlighted the breadth of diversity that we have in the metropolitan area, and I plan to draw on my background and experiences to further the Mosaic Project's mission, expand our programming and really help facilitate growth while building a new narrative for the region."

As Program Manager, Ko will ensure the success of Mosaic's targeted programs by managing and supporting the 450 Mosaic Ambassadors, regional entrepreneurs, and international student initiatives in St. Louis. Under the leadership of Executive Director Betsy Cohen, he will leverage targeted digital media campaigns to grow the Mosaic's many initiatives. Ko's professional experience and dedication to our international community will play a crucial role in supporting the Mosaic Project's goal of making St. Louis the fastest growing major region for immigration by 2020.

About the St. Louis Mosaic ProjectThe St. Louis Mosaic Project was launched in 2012 in response to an economic impact report, outlining St. Louis to be lagging in immigrant growth as well as highlighting the economic benefits of increasing its foreign-born population. The Mosaic Project is a regional initiative that is professionally managed by St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, World Trade Center St. Louis and a 22 member committee. Its goal is to transform St. Louis into the fastest growing major metropolitan area for immigration by 2020 and promote regional prosperity through immigration and innovation.
