Chaminade College Preparatory School Helps Regional Prosperity By Becoming An Ambassador School

        St. Louis, MO - April 8, 2015 - The St. Louis Mosaic Project has partnered with Chaminade College Preparatory School as it takes initiative to further assist international students and foreign-born families in the St. Louis region by enrolling in the Mosaic Ambassador School program. The St. Louis Mosaic Project is proud to announce Chaminade as their 7th member of the Mosaic Ambassador Schools. Mosaic Project Program Manager Vin Ko says that they “are thrilled about the partnership with Chaminade. We believe that the programs the Ambassador Schools offer will enhance our regional prosperity by promoting a welcoming environment for international families settling in the St. Louis region.?

        Chaminade serves domestic and international students in Grades 6 through 12 and is dedicated to cultivating the inherent gifts, skills and talents of young men so that they are prepared for success in college and life. The school currently has a resident program made up of over 50 international students from over 15 countries. Part of their mission is to foster a diverse faculty and student body, to educate each person to accept and respect differences in a pluralistic society, and to be open and adapt to local and global contexts through enculturation and interdisciplinary education.

        Chaminade's existing international programs coupled with the St. Louis Mosaic Project, contributes significantly in developing a welcoming community for international students and foreign-born families in St. Louis.The school has created a Global Academy Director's position to provide leadership and coordination to all of its international programs. It has also implemented a Global Citizens Club to promote cultural diversity and awareness within the student body and developed a full ESL curriculum that helps international students improve language skills and social knowledge.

        Chaminade is taking a further step to improve the community by planning service work with our local immigrant communities. At the same time, it will promote the Mosaic Project at international recruiting presentations, as well as post Mosaic materials in the Global Academy section of their website.

        About the St. Louis Mosaic Project

        The St. Louis Mosaic Project was launched in 2012 in response to an economic impact report, outlining St. Louis to be lagging in immigrant growth as well as highlighting the economic benefits of increasing its foreign-born population. The Mosaic Project's goal is to transform St. Louis into the fastest growing metropolitan area for immigration by 2020 and promote regional prosperity through immigration and innovation. This regional initiative is professionally managed by the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership., World Trade Center St. Louis and a 22- Member Committee.
