Flowers of Kamogawa

Spring: Cherry Blossoms
"sakura"
Spring: Pink Magnolia
In this article I want to concentrate more on the pictures than the words, for I feel the beauty from nature often speaks much better for itself than any words I could muster. It seemed as if each month there was something new blooming and the colors were just magnificent, so bold, so vibrant, so warm.
Me, planting my first garden....I love snapdragons.

My landmower...what a treat to use:)
But first I want to recant my little tale of when I took it upon myself to create my very first flower garden. Seeing as how after I first arrived, it started thawing out a bit, I had a tremendous amount of free time to fill. So what better way to fill the time than by gardening. Now anyone who may know me closely, was rolling over in laughter at the sound of those words coming from my lips. I don't garden! I love to look at flowers, but I am not a green thumb, much to the disappointment of my mother who spent most of her free time when I was growing up out planting remarkable gardens and who had hoped that someday we would be side by side planting gardens together (sorry Mom). I was always surrounded by flowers blooming throughout the year as I grew up and I took it for granted. So I guess it is in honor to my Mom that I took a new interest in flowers and filled many pages of my photo albums with floral pics. Since my mother has always been an avid gardener, thanks to her, at least I remembered a few names of flowers and basic gardening principles that seeped into my mind over the years. Well, my first garden took me awhile to clear out but once it did I really had fun planning and planting my simple row of plants and seeds. Later it was overrun my Morning Glories...wow, do they ever spread!

Spring: palm and plum blossoms
Spring:?pink hydrangea over water drain off
But thanks to this experience, since I have come home, I find that I notice more flora than ever, seeing pear trees blooming in full white when I arrived back home, something I do not think I ever paid much mind to in the past...now I do. Thanks MOM and thank you Kamogawa!
End of Summer: pink
lily

Early fall: Splendid red spider lilies, that grew in wild bunches across the tambos.
Please enjoy the many colors of Kamogawa, the flowers and the trees as they seemed to bloom non-stop throughout spring, summer, and into fall. Of course, my photos cannot fully do justice to these beautiful images. I highly recommend checking out the webpage for this one to see all the colors: www.scanews.com (click on Japan map over on right column, and then page down to article #8 on my homepage and click.)

Summer: Morning GLory takeover!
