
French Prince Louis de Bourbon helps city celebrate feast of King

Louis de Bourbon, Duc d'Anjou (Prince of France), a descendant and namesake of the
French king, visited St. Louis from 08/23 - 28, 2000. The purpose of the visit,
which is sponsored by the Alliance Francaise of St. Louis and was chronicled by French
television, is to encourage commercial and cultural ties between St. Louis and Europe.
De Bourbon, 26, a banker, is the most "senior member" of the Bourbon
family. During the visitation, prince was impressed by the St. Louis' art,
architecture and great growth since then and especially its "tremendous diversity,
the hard work of generations"
