Yo-Yo Ma, Cello
Windows for Cello and Orchestra was composed by Hugh Downs at the request of cellist Yo-Yo Ma.  The work receives its world premiere in this evening's concert.  Yo-Yo Ma is the Alyn and Marlyn Essman Guest Artist.  Last time he appeared with the SLSO is May 17 and 18, 1996 in Richard Danielpour's Cello Concerto.
