Man-peng Tiao is a senior writer for Common Health Magazine, now reporting on preventive health issues and the environment in Taiwan. She wrote for many years for Common Wealth Magazine, where she covered Taiwan's democratic transition and changing position in the global economy. She has written several prize-winning articles on the effects of privatization and deregulation in the banking industry and in public finance. In 2001, she published a book on Y.C. Lo, former head of Phillips Taiwan and the first Asian member to serve on Phillips' executive board. She has also worked as a reporter for the Singapore Broadcasting Corp. and the Economic Daily News in Taiwan. Tiao received the National Gold Tripod Publication Award for the best feature in 1994 and the Best Magazine Report Award in 1995 and 1996.


Ernest Yuyan Zhang is deputy director of Guangzhou Daily Press Group, China's largest newspaper conglomerate. Previously, he was the deputy editor-in-chief of the English-language Guangzhou Morning Post, reporting on the city's campaigns for educational reforms and efforts to protect and maintain Christain churches and Buddhist temples. Zhang was a member of the detachments that covered NYC's millennium celebrations and the Hong Kong hand over in July 1997. In addition to his work in journalism, Zhang has taught English at the Guangdong Provincial Commercial College and Anhui Normal University. Zhang holds an M.A. in journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism, Columbia, Missouri and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the same institution.
