The students from China and Taiwan worked together on October 18, 2002 to present an exciting program at the Parkway School District English as Second Language class United Nations Day celebration.
There are five major ethnic groups in China. Each group has it's own traditional costumes. ESL students introduced Moongolian, Shin-jiang, Bai-yee, Huei costume, and finally, the last costume is something that Chinese would wear to a formal party.
One program features a chorus of students singing Jasmin. While the students are singing, Mr. Chiou carved fruits and vegetables into sculptures. Mr. Chiou worked for a very famous restaurant for many years where he demonstrated his unique carving ability for international VIPs when they visited Taiwan.
The last program features a Moolan double-fan dance. This is a very popular exercise in China and Taiwan. Every morning, you can see people doing this exercise in public parks.
