3. General schematic plans have been drawn up to renovate and improve the existing pool. There are also general schematic plans to improve the facilities within the current recreation center, including the fitness center, and to build a new year-round gym next to the current soccer facility. The gym would include basketball/volleyball courts, an elevated track and shower/locker room facilities.
We would like your opinion on the need to develop a long-term MASTER PLAN for the recreation center complex before making some of these improvements.
OPTION 1: Begin renovating and expanding the recreation center in the spring of 2003 and renovations and improvement of the existing pool in the fall of 2003 based on the plans outlined above.
OPTION 2: Begin to gather citizen input for the development of a Master Plan for the Heman Park Recreation Facility complex with the goal of beginning construction of the major addition by early 2004, expanding the fitness center by summer 2003, and renovating the Heman Park Pool in the fall of 2003.
