Eric Tang was a National Merit Commended student and earned a 4.0 grade-point average. He was treasurer of the National Honor Society. He was t also a principal violist of the high school orchestra and second-chair violist in the Missouri All-State Orchestra . He was co-editor-in chief of the Rambler, the school yearbook. He participated in the Ladue Strolling Strings, the Science Olympiad and varsity tennis. He was a sisth-grade camp counselor, head of the Special Olympics funraising committee, co-founder of the Asian Awareness Club and a Big Brother officer. He was second in the nation in the TEAMS competition. He was a winner of the Rensselaer Award, the Caltech Signature Award and the Lois Percival Orchestra Award. He will attend Pomona College.
