As part of MABA goals at establishing a wholesome environment for learning through a five-year landscaping and replanting project on the 30 acres of the land surrounding the monastery, MABA has taken up lay follower, Sdifee's suggestion to add the statues of eighteen Arhans, one grand Arhan and one Kuan-yin Bodhisattva to the standing Buddha statue in the courtyard.
According to the sutras, The Arhans and Bodhisattvas usually accompanied Shakyamuni Buddha when he was propagating the Dharma. MABA wishes to provide a similar holy and purifying learning environment for Buddhist teachings.
The stone statues of the Arhans and the white jade statue of the Kuan-yin Bodhisattva will be made in China and imported to MABA. This project can be accomplished only with your support. Please give as generously as you can. Whatever your contribution may be, it is greatly and warmly appreciated. The names of those who donate the full amount for one whole statue will be engraved on a plaque.
Breakdown of the cost:
Eighteen Arhan statues US$300 each
One grand Arhan statue US$3,500
One Kuan-yin Bodhisattva statue US$4,500
One copper ringing bell US$1,000
Please call 636-482-4037 for more information. You can donate in person or by check. Please make check payable to MABA and send it to:
