Images of China Worldway's Children Museum proudly presents the Chinese puppet show "Images of China", Performed by Oregon's Dragon Art Studio on January 24 & 25, 2003 This performance mixes puppetry with music, humor, elegance, and special effects to create an engaging show based on Chinese folklore. Each 45-minute show presents five independent stories with their own unique characters: The Crane and The Tortoise, A Donkey's Best Friend, The Dancer, Old Man and the Monkeys, The Super Duper Ping Pong Match. Brief Introduction to the Performers: Zhengli Xu has performed in Chinese Rod Puppetry for thirty-five years. He studied in and graduated from Beijing Puppetry Art School. He spent many years studying under the guidance of Chinese traditional puppetry masters. Yuqin Wang is an outstanding artist. By nineteen years of age, she had already acted in scores of classical Peking Operas. She played the leading role in more than thirty puppet shows, numerous movies and television programs. Her many awards include: Excellence in Performance Award by the Association of Art and Culture, Beijing, Best Artistic Expression and Children's Favorite Award at the 11th International Festival of Puppetry, Yugoslavia.
