OCA was a co-host of the Chinese Ceramics Today at the Des Lee Gallery of Washington University. On Saturday, September 13, OCA, St. Louis hosted a private party at the Des Lee Gallery for its members and friends. The event started at 2:00 pm, over 50 guests enjoyed a private viewing of the exhibits of the modern Chinese Ceramics. More than 200 pieces of exhibits that cross between tradition and contemporary expression generated a wide variety discussion. The director of the gallery, Mr. Phillip Slein, gave a guided tour of the significance of the display.
The New Shanghai Circus added additional entertainment value to the exhibit. The New Shanghai Circus is the first Chinese dance and acrobatic company that has gain significant presence in the entertainment world in their own name. They have their own theater in Branson, Missouri and have performed in Branson for 5 years. The president of the company, Mr. Lizhi Zhao, sent 3 actresses to the OCA event to perform the nose balance act. The nose balance act is one of the most difficult acrobatic performances. It combines dancing, balancing, and contortion into one graceful, yet breathing taking performance. Matthew Yu, OCA, St. Louis president, thank all volunteers for their hard work and time. "This private party is our (OCA, St. Louis) way of saying thank you for your loyal friendship and support", said Matthew Yu. The event concluded at 4:30 pm.

Louis Chinese Association (SLCA) held a four hour
event to sponsor the "Chinese Ceramic Today"
exhibition at Des Lee Gallery on September 20, 2003.
The firs two hours are for the field trip for the students
of Chinese language school, and the second hours are
an "Art and Wine" reception event by the
SLCA to express its gratitude to those friends from
the community who have been supportive to the organization
during the past years.
